Bodysuits!

Good morning, rise and shine you beauties. I’m up early today to attempt to get a gym session in before my cousin’s birthday party this afternoon, so we’ll see how that works out. I’m very sorry for my lack of posts this week, I’ve had yet another busy week with my internship ending and my normal weekly routine (my life keeps me on my toes for sure, but I prefer it to be that way).
This is officially my first Saturday day off in a long time, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m honestly gutted my Art internship ended on Thursday, I had an amazing time working alongside some incredibly inspiration artists and tutors, they’ve opened my eyes to what I really want in life, and I’m gutted to have said my emotional goodbyes. If anyone is thinking about applying to do an internship, I highly recommend. I wasn’t sure whether teaching was something I really wanted to do, however, after being inspired by the greats, it’s DEFINATLEY the thing I want most, I look forward to what the future brings. Dream big.
So today is only going to be a short post again. I’ve got some exciting posts going up next week so keep both eyes peeled okay? Don’t be leaving me just yet.
I managed to fit in some retail therapy this week with my friend Jen, so above is what I wore. Simple yet straight to the point. The lattice bodysuit is from Boohoo, and it’s my favourite bodysuit at the moment. Bodysuits are the perfect summer must have! They go amazing under jeans/skirts, they make any outfit look glam and trendy. Effortless and simple, exactly how I like it.
I paired it with my Pull and Bear baggy mom jeans. I didn’t want to go too over the top considering I was only going for something to eat, so the jeans made the outfit very casual, yet stylish at the same time. I really do love the tie up trend at the moment, can you tell?
I obviously teamed the outfit up with my white Adidas Originals, how could I not? These babies haven’t left my feet since Christmas, they simply go with everything and anything I put together lately. I love the whole monochrome look, it just appeals to me over any other colour scheme.
We ate in ‘The Tavern’ on Smith Down road, Liverpool. If anyone lives close to Liverpool, or you’re planning on visiting, I highly recommend this place. The food is incredible and the service is outstanding at all times. I obviously ate my weight in cheese that day because I have more eyes than stomach and it was way too delicious to waste.
We also went to go see 'The Longest Ride' in the evening. I basically cried like a massive baby through the whole thing, and couldn't cope at all. So if you fancy a chick flick that's romantic and tragic at the same time, go see that. Not my normal choice in film, however, still enjoyable. I'm going to go check out the new Jurassic Park on Monday, seeing as I've heard so many good things about it... how can I resist?
I hope you all enjoy your weekend, I plan to get very drunk today in celebration of me finally having Saturdays back, and my beautiful cousin's birthday.

All tied up

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was as relaxing as mine was. I was working most of the weekend, however, I had a lovely Sunday. I love Sundays! They’re the best day of the week for sure. Cuddling up watching films and eating a home cooked roast dinner, that’s what it’s all about. I watched the new Sin City 2 this weekend and it was actually really good considering the first one was amazing and I had high expectations, so I highly recommend you all give that a watch.
I finish my Art Internship this week, so I’m feeling a little sad today knowing it’s all going to be over within the next few days, however, I’ve got so much to look forward to, so keep your chin up lady. This is only the beginning.

So today’s only going to be a small post, and what’s better to talk about than the fabulous Lace trend. The whole country has suddenly gone mad for tie up lace over the past few months; we’ve probably all found ourselves wondering… can I pull it off? Do I want to? I for one love this trend, and I can’t see it going away anytime soon either (well, I seriously hope not anyway).
The sneaker inspired details that have graced our catwalks over the past few months have finally starting coming into all our favourite shops, I’ve already bagged myself some amazing statement pieces, however, I’ve got my eye on a few more things I NEED for my summer wardrobe over the next few months.

Personally I think the whole trend came about after the spring 2015 runways (Gucci, Louis Vuitton and the amazing Givenchy), which at first came as a surprise to me. I wasn’t sure whether I liked the thought of so much skin showing on an outfit, especially in the area I hate most (the chest), yet after trying a bodysuit on myself, I instantly loved the end result, it was far from trashy. The lace covered the parts I hate most, I actually thought the trend was very flattering, and now (like most ladies) am obsessed.

Above shows one of the pieces I bought a few weeks ago from Boohoo. I normally try to stick with black for when it comes to such a statement piece, however, when I saw this little orange beauty… I couldn’t resist. The dress comes just below the knee and is seriously flattering for when you're in need of a good night out with your girls and want to dress up. Here's another beauty I tried on last week in Topshop, and instantly fell in love with.

I never actually bought this dress, but I think I might have to revisit the store sometime over the next few weeks and hunt this beaut down, can't believe I never bought it the first time.

So what do you all think of the tie up trend? Too much? Not enough? I think we could all do with a little bit of lace in our lives at some point, so why not now!?

I hope everyone's Monday is going okay so far. I have such a busy day today so I should probably get on with that, but first, a cup of tea would be nice.

23... but who's counting?

Last week was an insane first week being 23. I haven’t been that busy in a long time. I started a new job last week, and left an old one behind. Leaving jobs can be really hard at times, I never like leaving the friends I make behind, however, I will always keep a few close to heart.
I was also the lucky winner of Missguided’s twitter competition on Friday, which was amazing. I luckily got the chance to be styled by two of Missguided’s stylists in their new store in Selfridges, Manchester. The experience was amazing, and I got to pick so many lovely clothes to come home with me. I now have plenty of party dresses to last me a little while, keeping me with all the current trends. I never realised how much I loved black until I found myself picking out every black piece of clothing in the shop. Once you go black, you’ll never go back. I’ll upload a post sometime this week about my experience with the Missguided stylists, and what I brought home with me.
So last week was my 23rd birthday. I thought I would do a little post about what I got up to over the weekend, however, I won’t go too much into depth with what I wore, because I plan to tell you all more about that through the week with some special photo-shoots planned.
The laced up long sleeved black dress and two piece pink co-ordinate are both from Miss G, and the black midi dress is from Boohoo. I haven’t bought anything from Boohoo in a long time, however, their new collection is actually really amazing. I especially love their current shirts and black dresses they have on offer. I loved all three of these outfits, they made my birthday weekend very stylish and special. My birthday was full of amazing breakfast foods and the company of some of my favourite people, exactly how every birthday should be spent.
I'll be uploading what I got up to with the Missguided stylists in Manchester through the week, and also a special post on friday! so keep both eyes peeled.Thank you for taking your time reading. Check out my Instagram for more fashion bits and bobs - www.instagram.com/chelslous
